NSW coach Ricky Stuart has contacted in-form Manly centre Jamie Lyon about his representative availability.
But Lyon reiterated to Stuart that he had retired from all forms of rep football.
The Sea Eagles centre is enjoying another stellar season after leading Manly to last year’s NRL premiership.
Had Lyon been available, there is little doubt he would have been named in the NSW side to meet Queensland.
“There was dialogue but Jamie is comfortable about the decision he made two or three years ago in relation to standing down from all rep football,” said NSW’s chief adviser Bob Fulton. “Ricky respected Jamie’s decision.”
